Batter up! Cole and Blake’s baseball season is here! – Northwestern Kokomo, Indiana Sports Photography

I think everybody has memories of the ballpark growing up.  Either you were there as a player or there because your brother or sister was playing.  From the nachos to the sunflower seeds I can pretty much tell you that so far the boys love everything there is to love about being at the ballpark.

Cole is now in his second year of playing Rookie league out at Northwestern with Blake playing his first year of T-ball.  I love going out to shoot these games because I always love that the boys get to see what they look like when they play.  Their faces always tell the story.  Being able to shoot with a 300mm lens with on a Canon Mark 3 with a 1.4x extender also helps a little bit.  I find that when I am shooting sports it always makes me appreciate the guys who do this for a living.  You can be the best photographer in the world, but if the umpire or the coach steps in your way there is nothing you can do about it.  Not only is it about timing, but it is also a game where there really might not be that much action.  So your chances of getting something really good might only be two or three times per game.  So my hat is off to you sport shooters. 🙂

Here are some of the shots that I got from their games last week…Hope that these bring back some great memories for you in your own times at the ball park. 🙂

Chelo - I bet these boys don’t want to hear that they are adorablleeee. But they are! Great work as always, Mike 🙂

Alec’s Senior Picture Session – Northwestern High School – Kokomo Indiana Senior Photographer

Just when I think I am finished up with the 2011 Senior class I get another call from someone.  So there might be a few blog posts after graduation day.  I am really excited to launch the Mike Wise Senior division of my business.  Check out the website if you have not yet as well as the Facebook page too.  The senior spokesmodels are about to be released here in the next week, so be on the lookout for those as well.

This session with Alec was a lot of fun because he brought a lot of musical props like his guitar. I am always amazed when I get to work with Seniors that are really musical.  I think I love creating pictures with their instruments because it is such a part of them that it just fits with everything they do. So I loved working with him in creating a lot of different looks for his session.

Thanks Alec!  Best of luck next year in college where ever you decide that you are meant to be…it will be their honor having you as one of their students.

Stephanie and Brandon’s Wet and Wild Engagement Water Fountain Session – West Lafayette Purdue University Kokomo Indiana

I am still trying to catch up on engagement sessions and weddings on the blog.  This time of the year is reeeeeally busy with wedding season starting, the 2011 seniors realizing they are about to graduate and haven’t taken their senior pictures, and then shooting the senior spokesmodels for 2012.  So I will try to at least get a few posts on here in the next few days.

West Lafayette, Indiana – I shot with Brandon and Stephanie in West Lafayette at Purdue University.  I always love when couples have ideas in mind for when we are going to go out for their shoot.  I am always open to giving suggestions, but when couples have a starting point for their session it is always a lot of fun to go with that direction and then just run wild with it.  So we started off at the Purdue campus and finished up at the fountains.  Steph had said that they wanted to get some shots by the fountain, so I assumed that they meant “beside” the fountain, so when I learned that they wanted to get in the fountain I knew that we were going to have a great time!  I am sure their wedding will be more of the same spontaneous fun!  Can’t wait for your wedding day guys!

Holly and Colin’s Wedding Preview – West Lafayette Wedding Photographer – Ross Ade Stadium Purdue

Just wanted to give a little preview of the sweet wedding that I shot with Colin and Holly this weekend. What an awesome couple. Their wedding was held at the Faith Presbyterian Church and their reception rocked all night with the help of X-Sight Music and Purdue’s Ross Ade Stadium.  Thanks guys for letting me be a part of such a beautiful wedding.  Here are just a few shots that caught my eye as I was pulling the shots from my cameras.  Hope you enjoy…

Megan and Kasey’s Engagement Session – Downtown Indianapolis – Monument Circle – Kokomo Wedding Photographers

Megan and Kasey’s engagement session was a lot of fun as we were shooting all over downtown Indianapolis.  From Monument Circle to all kinds of other alley ways and streets, we were up for anything that came (even a chicken car) our way.  I can’t wait for your wedding day guys!  I am sure it will be an incredible day for the two of you.

Don’t ask where this came into play with their session, but how often do you see a “Chicken Car” driving down the street? 🙂

Danger is my business…
