Sanibel Island, Florida – I thought I would share some of the places and sites that I visited while in Sanibel Island. I would so recommend visiting there as they have some awesome restaurants. We visited the Bubble Room…the Timbers Fish Market…the Blue Giraffe…the Over Easy Cafe…and the Island Cow…and a few others that I can’t remember. As you can see these are not the norm, so that was a huge change of pace from the usual boring chains. I am pretty sure that I gained a few pounds while I was there. I should have counted how many shrimp that I ate. 🙂
It was nice not having a schedule for a few days. My wife and I basically relaxed on the beach, the pool, and at the different restaurants. I could not believe how “shelly” the beach is in Sanibel. I had heard that it was a great place to find shells, as the beach is covered in shells.
I did get to read an awesome book while I was there. It is called “90 Minutes In Heaven” by Don Piper. I am not even going to try to explain this book. There were several times when I almost didn’t want to read anymore, as I imagined what he and his family went through. But there was no way that I could not read on and continue to journey through this amazing happening of events.
If you have never been to Sanibel Island it is really a nice place to go. It reminds me a lot of Hilton Head. It is quiet and relaxing. Here are a few shots…
I was able to catch some of Sanibel Island’s best surfing. 🙂
My wife and I hanging at the Bubble Room. Ask her about their cheesecake…she wanted to go back there every night just to get some more. 🙂
Credit is to whoever the nice girl was that took this picture for us in the Tunnel of Love. 🙂
I need to shoot on the beach more often. My shadow makes me look like I actually have muscles. hehehe…
My wife took these last two shots while I was putting away the shrimp one evening. The last one is a sign that we saw when we were walking around behind a restaurant to get to our parking lot. There were all kinds of “slides” around the area where you could see that the alligators were going in and out of the water. So of course my wife wanted me to go up and stand next to the sign. Thanks honey! 🙂
