No…I am actually just talking about my new goggles that I got to use for a while since I had LASIK surgery.

Well here it is day two of my journey with LASIK surgery from Friday morning.  I had my post surgery follow up and everything checked out great.  I have been so impressed with everyone at the Price Vision Group.  Their staff is awesome.  I would highly, and I mean very highly, recommend them to anyone who has been thinking about having LASIK surgery.  So I want to thank everyone there for your kindness and your professionalism.

I was thinking about how great it is that Dr. Price was able to correct my vision, and that is amazing.  But what I am even more than amazed with is that he is named as one of the top corneal disease and transplantation doctors in the country.  So my small little LASIK surgery pales in comparison, I am sure, to some of the amazing things that he has helped people with in his career.

Ok…so now on to the surgery details.  Honestly…there isn’t a whole lot to tell.  The most uncomfortable part was when they suction cup your eyeball to actually make the cut.  This did not hurt, but you could feel the pressure.  It is probably as much mental as it is physical.  If you sit there and think to yourself about how they are getting ready to “laser” your eye it can kind of freak you out.  So what seemed like about thirty to forty seconds for each eye to make the cut then resulted in a few minutes under the laser to correct my vision.  I think the whole think took less than ten minutes.  As soon as I looked at the clock on the wall I could already see almost as normal as if I was wearing my contacts.  For those of you who have glasses or contacts this is a lot like the first time you ever wear them and can “see” what you should be seeing for the first time.

So now I come to the questions that I have posed in my title…I have these cool new shades to wear when I am sleeping or taking a shower.  These are required for a week.  My wife was so paranoid last night that I was going to rub my eyes that she woke up several times to check on me and make sure I still had them on my eyes.  It almost makes me feel like a combination of Bono/Michael Phelps/Heywood Banks (“Fly’s Eyes”). hehehe… 🙂
