The Neon Boneyard…

Las Vegas – The last day of my stay in Las Vegas included a shoot at the Neon Boneyard.  This is a museum of all the old Vegas neon signs that have been “retired” so to speak.  This was organized by Emma Smith, so I am very thankful for all her hard work in organizing this event.  We ended up having seven models to work with for the shoot, so this was a lot of fun because they were all so different in their look and their personalities.  This is also fun to shoot this type of setup because it makes you think more about what you can do instead of what you can’t.  I had two lenses for this shoot…a 24-70 and a 135…no flash or reflectors…and about 30 other photographers to move around with and respect their space. 🙂

I shot some “behind the scenes” looks so that you get a feel for the place…

Hi Mike. Just (virtually) dropping in from Australia to say hello. OMG… these shots are fabulous. I’m SO jealous! I absolutely SWEAR, one day I will go to WPPI, and one day I’ll shoot in the Neon Boneyard. At the moment, with 2 needy little boys, it’s just a pipedream. But one day….ReplyCancel
